Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup Instructions

 

  1. From a web browser, visit MFASetup Links to an external site.. This will take you to Microsoft's Office365 Sign-In Page. Enter your District email address (username@laccd.edu or username@student.laccd.edu), and select "Next."

  2. You will be taken to the LACCD's sign-in page. Enter your password, and select "Sign In."

  3. You may receive a screen asking if you want to stay logged in after completing the process. Select "No".

  4. If you have not already registered for MFA, you will see the screen below that says, "More information required." Select "Next." If you see a different screen than the one below, you have already registered for MFA, and no further action is required at this time.

  5. The next screen will ask which method you want to provide security verification with:
    • Option 1: Microsoft Authenticator App*
    • Option 2: Text Message*

*Disclaimer: Options 1 and 2 both require use of your personal cellphone.

Option 1: Microsoft Authenticator App (Click to Open)
  1. Select "mobile app," then select "Set up."

  2. Install the Microsoft authenticator app on your mobile device. Select the three dots, "add account," "work or school account," and "Scan a QR code." Scan the QR code. Select "Next."

  3. Select "Receive notifications for verification" and select "Next."

  4. The authenticator app will send you a pop-up message. Select "Approve."

  5. Optionally enter a backup mobile phone number, or select "Done."

  6. Your registration is now complete. You may select additional authentication methods or close the browser.
Option 2: Text Message (Click to Open)
  1. Select "Authentication phone." Choose your Country Code, enter your phone number, and select "Next."

  2. Enter the verification code from your text message and select "Verify."

  3. After successful verification, select "Done."

  4. Your registration is now complete. You may select additional authentication methods or close the browser.
