Pronto Communication Tool

What is Pronto?

Pronto is a communication hub that can be accessed in the left-hand navigation bar in Canvas. It connects you with your instructor and fellow students via chat and video.

Please note that not all classes/instructors use Pronto. Your instructor will let you know if they will be using Pronto.

How do I use Pronto?

To access this messaging system in Canvas, click the Pronto icon located in the bottom left corner of your course navigation menu. Once clicked, you can select your class and connect.

  • You can also download the Pronto app on your phone by searching the app store for Pronto Team Communication.
  • Keep in mind that, by default, everyone in your course will see the messages that you post in the Pronto chat.
  • In the Pronto chat area, you can type a message, add an attachment, or search for a GIF.

Additional Tips

For the best experience with Pronto, make sure to:

  • Check your notifications regularly.
  • Use the search feature to find past messages or files.
  • Reach out to your instructor if you have any questions about using Pronto.
