Unit 3 Overview

If students gain knowledge through exposure to the content that you have made available, the communication tools in Canvas make possible the contextualization and application of that knowledge in cooperation with the other members of your course's learning community. As an instructor you use those tools to manage the ways your students interact, share information, and build that community.

By the end of this lesson, participants will be able to

  • Manage asynchronous communication within a class with Discussion
  • Use the Calendar tool to support effective time management

To meet the objectives of this lesson, you will complete the following activities and assessments:

  2. Perform the "Create a Calendar Item" hands-on activity
  3. Perform the "Create a Discussion" hands-on activity
  4. Complete the "Unit 3 Quiz"
  5. Participate in the "Communication Tools" discussion
