Reading Primary Literature in Biology, Assignment 1

In your career in science or a related field, you will need to be able to read and understand scientific papers. This can be a challenge at first because their structure is very different from most other forms of writing. The best way to learn how to read and understand these papers is to practice. Be sure to read through the instructions on how to read a scientific paper first, then open up our paper for today's assignment and just jump in! Remember, it's OK if you don't understand everything. Just do your best to figure out as much as you can.
