Course Materials and Supplies
Supply List - You can link to this list to print out or have live on your phone here on google docs. Links to an external site.
This material list includes tools that will last a lifetime as well as supplies that we may use up this semester. Once you learn to draw, you can always draw- and these supplies will come in handy to support that.
Supplies will vary depending on what task you are working on, and what media you choose to use. Part of the objective of this class is to try out new things. (True for college in general) Many of these tools will be new to you. You may love some or hate them; the only way to find out is to try them. Please feel free to add to this list at your discretion. We will use all of the supplies on this list however.
Please be sure to let me know if you have trouble purchasing these items for any reason. Many of these can be substituted with things found at home. Additionally we will try to have some of these tools on hand at school if you are in financial need. Stay in touch - please don't wait on getting these supplies or letting me know what is up.

I have included a list of local graphic supply and reprographics houses. These will become your lifelines during presentations. Visit them and become familiar with the equipment and supplies they carry, as well as their hours of operation. (closed stores will not be accepted as an excuse for late work) Always carry your Student ID and request a discount.
A Final Note: Students new to Architecture are often surprised by the high cost of supplies and equipment for this major. Most of the tools you purchase for this class will, if treated with care, last a lifetime, and are a one-time expense. Supplies will be an ongoing expense that must be budgeted for. Experience has shown that the amount spent for initial equipment and supplies by students varies widely, but generally ranges between $150 and $300. SHOP AROUND, or be prepared to see classmates with the same equipment for 1/2 the price.
Please let me know if you are having trouble purchasing these items. We have tools to loan and some materials as well if you are in need.
