Assignment: Album Cover

Objective:

To learn to see better.  To learn how to apply various aspects of composition to help to make better photographs

Materials:

Camera, Imagination 

Procedure:

In this assignment you have to conceive of an idea of what you would do to illustrate an album cover.  Find a CD in your personal collection that you feel that you could shoot a better cover for.  In this project you have to think of your composition in terms of a square. 

You will need to consider that this will need text, so we will be working in layers in Photoshop for the assignment.

The Photoshop file and the DNG file will be turned in for this assignment.

Guidelines:

Try to go out and shoot the best photographic images possible.  You will be graded on your ability to compose the best photograph you can.  

Make sure that you shoot in a way that brings your viewer into the image the way you saw it.  

Good photographs will convey your emotion with the subject and will illicit a reaction from your viewer. Remember that the world is a busy place and that sometimes simplicity is the best for an image.  Also do not be afraid of getting close to a subject element.
