It contains a thermostat, an ignition switch, a thermostatically controlled flame switch and a fuel control switch. It also includes a safety valve that stops the system from operating if the flame sensor detects a flame in the burner, or in the furnace when the valve is open.

Before installing, it is recommended to turn off the power to the Honeywell. This will prevent the gas valve from closing when you start the system for the first time. In case the gas valve is damaged, or if you want to replace it, follow the manual of installation carefully.

For the installation of this Honeywell furnace gas valve, it is installed through the flue of the furnace using the flame control switch located near the thermostat. You have to make sure that you turn the thermostat on and off before opening the gas valve to the burner to avoid any short circuits. Before starting the system, you need to disconnect the gas line from the burner by pulling the gas hoses in and disconnecting the wiring from the gas valve to the burner. It is also necessary to disconnect the fuel line to the furnace to prevent any damage to the burner.

The flame sensor is located near the furnace on the bottom of the house. Turn off the furnace and remove the flame sensor from the furnace. Connect the sensor wire and install the flame sensor in the socket of the flame switch. Then connect the sensor wire to the flame switch, and the ignition switch to the thermostat.

You can now turn on the furnace and the flame sensor and then place the flame switch into the socket on the flame sensor. On some models, you will have to turn the power on the furnace before turning the thermostat on. and connect the gas line from the burner to the furnace.
