Summary of Module Seven

Blue Ribbon

Congratulations!

You have now finished Module Seven for Week Seven.

In this Module you learned the basics of bringing in Outside Material into your writing: quoting, paraphrasing, and Works Cited.

In two of our last major essays for this class, and on final exam essay, I will be asking for you to bring in one quote or paraphrase from our text Hidden Figures.

This will help prepare you for future classes, like English 101, where students are required to write a 7-10 page research paper using outside material. In those papers you may have a Works Cited Page with as many as 6-10 outside listings.  What we are doing here is good preparation for that. Every college student needs to know how to properly bring in outside material and to do so without causing plagiarism.

Good work! Congratulations!

 What's Next?

In Module Eight you will turn in an assignment from your Vocabulary Journal of Hidden Figures reader, chapters 1-9.

You will also continue reading Hidden Figures, chapters 10-13, reading supplemental material on American history, and answering a Quiz.

You should receive Paper #1 back by the end of the week and have a chance to rewrite if so desired.

Good luck!
