Starting Week Ten

Welcome to Week Ten of our course this semester.

I hope you had a peaceful and restful Spring break.

Are you enjoying our reader, Hidden Figures? In your Predicting phases of pre-reading, many of you said you believed you would be finding out quite a bit of information on the U.S. military, airplane production, women and space travel. And hasn't that been the case so far? You are learning a great deal about American history along with getting to know our main characters in the novel.

You will continue chapters 14-18, Hidden Figures later in Week Twelve.

 

 

In the meantime, in this Module you will be doing the following:

• completing your second Vocabulary List from Chapters 10-13, Hidden Figures [due Friday, April 16]
• writing two paragraphs on characters in Hidden Figures using Discussion space [due Monday, April 19]
• completing your second Quoting/Paraphrasing assignment [due Sunday, April 18]
• studying Compare/Contrast essays in GW5 - Unit 5 (for Essay #2)
