Discussion Question for chapter 04 Civil Liberties

The American Civil Liberties Union Links to an external site. has been in existence for decades, fighting for the protection of our civil liberties.  You've read in Chapter four how our civil liberties were established and you reviewed what specific rights these include.  For this week's discussion, head over to the ACLU.org website and click on the "Take Action" Links to an external site. section. (Use the right and left arrow to scroll through the issues)  In this section you can read what the ACLU is working on currently.  Choose an issue and research the details, include in your response a summary of the issue for your classmates, and include your stance and thoughts on the subject.  

Consider when completing this assignments questions such as:  Which Civil Liberty, as discussed in chapter 4, is being violated?  Why is this issue on the ACLU's radar? What is the history of the problem? What if this right was taken away, what would the consequences be?  What is your position on the topic?  What would the opposition argue?
