HOLA, chicos!
For this Assignment, you will record a video practicing the present subjunctive. You may create any scenario you wish, but I have some suggestions below. First of all, make sure that you have completed your vhlcentral.com Links to an external site. homework before you start. Make sure as well that your video is at least 2 minutes long; use at least 8 examples of the present subjunctive, varying the subjects (so that you are not always the subject and someone else doing your bidding). You will find many verbs of "will and influence" in Chapter 12 of your ebook, or vtext, or whatever they call it. ALSO, show me that you can use FORMAL commands. Throw in 2-3 formal commands for your couple or your family member. If you're talking to your teenager, use informal commands. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between a command and the present subjunctive, even though they often look the same. For example:
Some possible scenarios:
- You are a marriage therapist. You are advising and suggesting that your clients do certain things to improve their relationship.
- You are a parent who is talking to his/her teenager and making recommendations and suggestions so that they don't get into trouble.
- You are part of an intervention with a family member. You make recommendations and suggestions about how that person can recover from addiction, dysfunction, or any other undesirable behavior.
Or, you can invent a scenario.
