Work Experience Education (WEE) Orientation

Welcome to the Online Work Experience Orientation

        1. In order to register for the work experience course at West Los Angeles College, you must view and complete the CWEE Online Orientation modules, videos, and activities in this canvas shell. Allow yourself about 25 minutes.
        2. Please go through each module and read everything carefully; take your time to understand all the requirements and expectations of this program. You must complete an activity and earn at least 80% on the knowledge check quiz.
        3. At the conclusion of the orientation, you will submit the Work Experience App, Learning Objectives & Program Links to an external site. via CCN, which initiates an email to the CWEE office. Links to an external site.
        4. Once CWEE staff receives the email, they will adjust your student record, permitting you to register for a specific CWE course (COOP ED 195, COOP ED 295, or COOP ED 395). The online orientation fully explains the process.

In this orientation, you will learn:

        • What is the CWEE Program, Units, Enrollment requirements, and Hours required to work to earn college credit
        • What's needed to successfully complete a work experience course
          • Expectations & Responsibilities
          • Required Employment prep workshop 
        • Assignments/Paperwork required to pass the class

 

The CWEE Program adheres to the regulations for Cooperative Work Experience Education outlined in Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations and in the Los Angeles Community College District Work Experience Plan.
