START HERE! -- THE FIRST WEEK ASSIGNMENT

This is your first Overview and Assignment for this course. It's good to have you here. Always go to the Module tab first on our Course Website at the start of each week to learn that week's assignment. This will set you up well for the rest of the week.

 

 

Read and Get

Please read and complete the Introductory Module of Essential Things: It's the module you're in right now. Nice job. Starting at the beginning of the module, please read and explore all of this Introductory Module carefully: it will prepare you for the road that lies ahead. Complete all of the assignments in it -- most are small -- before the deadlines.

Next, read, view, and complete the Week-1 Module. It too is peppered with a few assignments. Click on the assignments to learn about them and to note the deadlines, then complete them.
 

GET THE TEXTBOOK ASAP -- that is, yesterday! Get it at our college (LAVC), on Amazon.com, at Barnes and Noble -- but get it. If you get it used and save a few bucks in doing so (nice job!), invest those dollars into expediting the delivery of the book to your doorstep. You will need the textbook soon, and if you don't have it, you will start to lose points. To find out the info on our textbook, see the Syllabus. 

Set up your "Profile".  This is the place where you need to add a photo of yourself so that we can see who you are in your discussion posts.  This is a requirement for this course.  To add your photo, simply go here. Photo guidelines:  Your face must be identifiable.  Please -- no images of pets, please, cars, children, inappropriate attire, or sunglasses. A face -- yours -- fosters community and a sense of friendliness. Put your best foot (face) forward.
