It will get deformed with time and you will find dips at the places where you sleep. You won’t get enough support for your body and there won’t be any proper alignment of your spinal cord. You won’t be able to sleep properly and this will cause harm to your mental health too. You will remain frustrated and angry. You will face severe stress and anxiety. Overall a bad mattress will take a toll on your health and affect the daily functioning of your life.

Waterbeds- All You Need To Know

If you are constantly suffering from back and joint pains then there are many types of mattresses and beds available for such illness. Among all others, one such type of new mattress is waterbeds. They are very good for back and joint pains and are used since long back as the treatment for such issues.

Waterbeds are bedding of vinyl filled with water. These waterbeds are of two types: hard side waterbeds and soft side waterbeds. The new models use a self-contained soft side bed. Nowadays soft side beds have become more popular in the market than hard side beds.

The waterbed was first invented in the late 1960s in California, a design student named Charlie Hall studying at San Francisco State University. He introduced the concept of water-filled mattresses. This idea came into his mind after playing with a seat filled with Jell-O and corn-starch. In 1968 he introduced water-filled beds as his master thesis and that’s how waterbeds were invented.

Waterbeds And Their Types

Hard side beds are made up of hard furniture woods like pine or oak and they have a heavy external frame. The external frame is a huge box having a one-piece bed or a series of smaller tubes. Many times the box contains footers, headboards, or storage drawers. In modern times the huge framed box has been replaced by a much lighter and more durable soft side waterbed having an outer exterior similar to the conventional box spring. The mattress is tightly fitted inside the frame but at times can be mounted on a traditional system of support.

The soft side waterbed also has standard-sized bed linens giving them an advantage over the hard size waterbeds and so they are more popular in the market.

Waterbeds And Their Health Benefits

Waterbeds are very beneficial for people having back problems or any type of bone issue. A waterbed provides proper alignment to your backbone and also gives support to the whole body. This bed drastically reduces pain in your back as they decrease the strain on your spine and provide immediate relief to you. Waterbeds also distribute your weight evenly all over the mattress surface providing you a good comfortable sleep. Waterbeds are very much recommended by doctors for paralyzed or bedridden people as they prevent them from getting bedsores.

Waterbeds And Its Difficulties

The difficulty with a waterbed is the setup and removal process for new waterbed buyers. A Californian king-size full wave mattress weighs 20000 pounds and its dimensions are 72 by 84 inches. It has a solid wooden side frame and needs at least 250 gallons of water. You need to have a strong bed that can accommodate such heavyweight bedding. Another factor about the bed is that the water might get polluted. The water can get algae or some kind of fungi and so it's very important to maintain the water of the bed and one must use a treating conditioner to keep the water free from pollutants. It is always wise to clean the vinyl mattress with the help of a cleaning solution and also you must keep a vinyl repairing kit (commonly used to seal air mattress holes) to seal small holes that might be seen in the mattress after a few years of usage.

Budget Involving a Waterbed

Waterbeds can be found at different rates according to the choice and budget of the buyer. If you want a cheap water bed then you can find one in the entry-level range. These come with large vinyl bladders which need some hard side beds for support and also you will have to buy the water heater, liner, or pump separately. If you want a bit better waterbed then you can buy one from the mid-range. In this range, you will find a soft side bed that comes with a self-supporting.

Also, these have smaller compact tubes that can be easily filled with water in your bathroom, and then you can transfer it to your bedroom. In this range, you can also buy hard side wooden frames which come with pillow tops and heaters. If you want to buy the best waterbed and have a high budget then you can buy it from the high-end range. In this range, you can buy a premium waterbed that comes with the whole waterbed system and not just the mattress and frame. It comes with the whole set of a portable water heater, a vinyl repair kit, an electric pump, a vinyl bed liner, pillow top, water conditioners, etc. If you want to buy a large waterbed-like the queen size or Californian king size bed then you will need some more additional money.

Conclusion

Waterbeds are the perfect choice for you as they provide the utmost comfort, hug your body, and give the perfect support which eases out sprains. They give complete contour protection to your spinal cord and joints and reduce pressure on your muscles and joints.

These waterbeds can be easily maintained as they can be easily cleaned, you just need to scrub the vinyl sheet with a cleaning solution to maintain its shiny appearance. These mattresses come with an integrated heater so when it's wintertime you can easily heat your mattress very quickly. The only problem with waterbeds is that they may cause accidental leakage, if your bed gets unintentionally pierced then it will cause a lot of water leakage.
