Assignment on Grammar, Vocabulary, Sentence Structure - Unit One (GW5)
In each Module, you will be assigned different exercises that cover Grammar, Vocabulary, and Sentence Structure. From Unit One in our textbook, Great Writing 5, there are exercises for the student, starting on page 20.
Using your Great Writing 5 textbook, write the correct answers BELOW to the following activities from the book.
Guidelines
BUILDING BETTER VOCABULARY (PAGES 20-21)
Complete Activities 12, 13, 14 and 15.
Activity 12 - Words to Know - these are the words from the three Boxes on pages 5, 13, and 17. Circle the correct word.
Activity 13 - From the ten words listed, fill in the correct word to match the correct meaning for each sentence.
Activity 14 - Choose the correct use (suffix) of the word in two sentences on the right. Decide if the sentence calls for a noun, verb, adjective, or adverb of that listed word and fill in the blank. For example, "deviation is a noun, deviate is a verb, deviant is an adjective."
Activity 15 - From the list of "Words to Know" on top of page 20, create your own five sentences. You must use five words from page 20.
BUILDING BETTER SENTENCES (PAGES 22--23)
Complete Activities 16 and 17.
Activity 16 - Find two errors in grammar and correct. Rewrite the sentence with your two corrections.
Activity 17 - First read the examples on top of page 22 which shows how to combine three sentences into One sentence. This lesson enables you to practice using clauses to create compound or complex sentences. Write your One sentence by combining the three points.
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS BELOW:
