Guidelines
In this Module and in our reader, Hidden Lives, you've read and learned about various historical people and events in U.S. history. The women in this novel were center stage to a number of vast changes that occurred in American culture and history during this time.
In this assignment, you are required to write ONE PARAGRAPH on your reaction to any issue of American culture or history that you have read about in this Module. Pick two videos and write your Reaction to the events in those videos. The videos contain background information of events in Chap. 14-18 of our reader, Hidden Figures and a little beyond to space age.
The paragraph is about your reaction to information in the videos and any additional historical text in this Module.
One half of your paragraph will discuss one video, and the second half will discuss your second video choice.
Write a Topic Sentence that refers to your reaction and the videos, and in the middle of the paragraph, write a transitional sentence that points to your second video reaction. (see below models).
For example - model paragraph Topic Sentence:
After watching two videos on school desegregation in America in the 1950s, I was surprised to see how difficult it was for the students. First of all, in the video on..... [discuss your reaction to first video]

See how your paragraph can be structured? It's very simple - top half of paragraph on video #1 and bottom half of paragraph on video #2.

This paragraph is about your own opinion on the material and your reaction to important events occurring in American culture and history.

Did you learn something new? Keep your writing centered on your "reaction" - not just facts from the Module or text. (Lower grade if you just insert facts.)

Paragraph should be 8-10 sentences long.
