Guidelines
Now that you've read Chapters 14-18, please review your Vocabulary Journal. Check your reader for common words you previously highlighted that needed to be looked up.
As before, your assignment here is to list ten (10) new vocabulary words that you discovered in Chapters 14-18. These words should be common nouns, or verbs, infinitives, adjectives, or adverbs that you would expect to see in college readings and lectures. They can be words you would use in your own future writings in college.
Reminder: Do not include proper nouns in this assignment. Please leave them out.
ASSIGNMENT
(1) List below ten (10) common words you looked up in Chapters 14-18 of Hidden Figures.
(2) List the word, (page number in book where you found it) and then the definition of the word.
(3) Write the word in your own sentence as you described in your definition.
(4) At the end of your sentence put down the part of speech - the way you used the word in your sentence: noun, verb, infinitive, adjective, or adverb.
Example of how to submit assignment:
1. sabotaged (page 119) - deliberately destroy, damage, or obstruct something.
Mohammed sabotaged my plans to hire new employees in our factory. (verb)
