Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the ability to recognize our behaviors, moods, and impulses, and manage them in a positive way so that we can communicate effectively, empathize with others, manage stress, overcome challenging situations and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence is a skill. And like any other skill, you enhance it with awareness and practice.

Instructions

The Emotional Intelligence (EQ) self-assessment is designed to get you thinking about the various competencies of emotional intelligence as they apply to you. Print out the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Self-Assessment. Read each statement and decide how strongly the statement refers to YOU. Total and analyze your results for each area of competency. Plan to spend about 20-30 minutes completing the self-assessment.

Instructions

Write a reflective essay composed of a minimum of 250 words, 12-point font, double spaced) based on your emotional intelligence score. Include responses to the following questions: Were you familiar with the term "emotional intelligence"? What are the strengths of your emotional intelligence? What’s the most important thing you discovered after assessing your EQ score? You do not have to include the questions, just your response
