Unit 2 Hands-on: Choose a Home Page
- Due No Due Date
- Points 10
- Submitting a text entry box or a website url
Overview
The Course Home Page is the first page students see when they click the link to enter your course on the Canvas Dashboard (the entry page to Canvas), though they may receive direct links to items based on their notification preferences and where they click on the Dashboard.
As an instructor you can choose among five options for your Course Home Page:
- Course Activity Stream - an automatically generated list of links to recent Announcements and activity in course materials, activities, and assessments
- Pages Front Page - a Content Page that you have created and designated to be the Course Home Page
- Course Modules - the list of Modules in your course
- Assignments List - the list of Assignments in your course (we will learn more about these in Unit 4)
- Syllabus - a page within Canvas that automatically lists all calendar events and includes a text field that you can fill with a course overvier, introduction, or other information.
Regardless of your Course Home Page choice, students can still access the tools and material that you have made available to them via course navigation.
Instructions
Choose a home page for your sandbox. After you do so, use the Submit Assignment link and write a paragraph explaining your choice and how you think it will support student success.
