Modules allow you to set up an organizational scheme for the content, activities, and assessments that best serves your students. Each Module can contain material from the same topic or theme; they can also be used to organize material chronologically within the class term. Modules can contain links to Content Pages as well as links to other course items like Discussions and assessments. You can lock a Module until a certain date and time, which allows you to have some control over the pace that students move through the class.
