Canada is home to many online pharmacies. These pharmacies can be purchased from the comfort of one's home at no extra charge to the consumer. These pharmacies are operated by Canadian pharmacists who are authorized by the government to sell products online and in mail order. In addition, these pharmacies are operated by licensed professional dispensers who work exclusively from their own private offices and do not work for a larger chain of drugstores.

There are several differences between Canada and the United States when it comes to drug approval process. In the United States the manufacturer of the medication has to clear the drug approval process with the Food and Drug Administration or FDA. The manufacturer is required to submit its application to the FDA along with all data and documentation so that the agency can make a decision as to whether or not the drug will be approved for sale in the United States. On the other hand in Canada there is only one regulatory body that requires manufactures to submit applications to the Canadian drug approval body. As a result of this fact both companies and the regulatory bodies in both countries can offer products to the Canadian market without having to worry about the FDA's drug approval process.

Canadian pharmacies also differ from their American counterparts in that they do not strictly sell pharmaceutical products. Many Canadian pharmacies sell vitamins, nutritional supplements, exercise equipment, clothing, home cleaning supplies and health and beauty items. Many of these products are imported from and do not require a prescription in the United States. In addition to selling prescription drugs, many Canadian pharmacies also deal with Canadian citizens by way of their tax system which requires the individual to declare the source of his or her income. The majority of companies are able to avoid levies on sales to individuals that are not required to fill out paperwork, like the United States does.

When it comes to buying prescription medications in the United States, one of the main differences between the two countries is in the form of a prescription drug that is required to be filled out. In the United States a person needs to fill out a prescription drug form that contains their full name, address, date of birth and social security number. In Canada there are no such requirement and therefore any customer can purchase medication without having to fill out any forms. In addition to not having to do a background check, Canadians are not required to provide any health information in order to buy medications from a Canadian pharmacy.

One of the biggest issues with using a Canadian pharmacy to buy medication is that there is no pharmacist available to guide a customer. Without a pharmacist, a customer may run into trouble when trying to find a medication that will suit their needs. In the United States a pharmacist will make sure that the proper drugs are found for a given ailment and that the proper dosage is provided. Without a pharmacist in Canada a consumer will have to provide the pharmacy with their prescription information which may not be accurate. This could lead to a delay in receiving the medication needed.

Canadian pharmacies offer a large selection of products to their customers at competitive prices. They are able to provide their consumers with prescription drugs at much lower costs than what they would receive at a pharmaceutical store in Canada. Some of the medications that cannot be purchased in the United States such as Ephedra and Botox are available in Canadian pharmacies. Some other medications that are commonly bought in Canada include cold and flu medicine and some diabetes medications.
